Chester House

This thoughtful renovation transforms a fragmented Victorian mid-terrace house into a captivating family home. Showcasing a monolithic, pared-back aesthetic on the exterior, internally the house will be sophisticated with exposed timber framing to provide a materially rich experience within.

At the heart of the renovation is a contemporary new open-plan kitchen and dining area. By lowering this central space to connect seamlessly with the existing basement, the design opens up a fluid, level transition to the rear garden – blurring the boundaries between indoors and out.

This clever interplay of spaces and materials creates a home that is both functionally refined and visually striking. The end result is a harmonious balance between craftmanship and family-friendly liveability.

Ben was project architect whilst working for Gresford Architects and oversaw the development of the project from initial concept to planning approval.
